Listed below are the selections, and a step by step procedure about
how to use the selections.
HELPFUL HINT * To Update final scores or Enter game spreads you will
need the Professional Football weekly stats located
in the sports section of your local newspaper.
Installation Instructions
1. Start up your computer as you normally do.
With a 2-Floppy Disk System:
2. Put a formated disk in drive B: and the PFB master disk in drive A:
then copy from it to the disk in drive B: with the instructions;
COPY A:*.* B:
3. Use the backup and put the Master copy of PFB away.
With a Hard Disk System
4. Make a subdirectory for the PFB system with the instructions :
MD PFB CD\PFB
5. Put the PFB disk in drive A: and type COPY A:*.* C:
6. Now type in PFB press the <Return> key. The rest is history.

NOTE: Selecting or entering the letter M will return you to the main
menu, no matter where you are in the program.

NOTE: The program knows who played who and will automatically go
from game to game allowing you to enter the points scored
and the spreads for each team, in same order as score sheet.
Helpful Hint: Check all data you input in the program, Wrong data
entered can cause the program to pick the wrong team.
Select { 1 } Enter Spreads
A. Enter the week number you wish to update, then press the Return
key.
B. The week you entered will appear and ask; " Is this correct (Y/N) ".
When correct enter Y.
C. Enter spread dor each game, then press return key.
* Note you do not have to enter any spreads. This is left entirely up
to you.
D. Continue entering until all spreads are entered. The program will then
display the games and ask;
"Do You Want To Make Any Changes (Y/N) ?"
When N is pressed the program will return to the Update Menu.
When Y is pressed the program instructs you to enter the game
number needing changes, then press return key. Enter the correct
spread and press return key.
Select { 2 } Check Spreads
A. Enter the week number you wish to check, then press return key.
B. The week you entered will appear and ask; " Is this correct (Y/N) ".
When correct enter Y.
C. When Y is answered the screen will display the spreads for that week
and ask; "Do You Want To Make Any Changes (Y/N) ?".
The program will only save the spreads if you have made any changes.
If no changes are made the program will return to the Update Menu.
When Y is pressed the program instructs you to enter the game
number needing changes. Then press return key, enter the correct
spreads and press return key.

Select { 3 } Enter Scores
A. Enter the week number you wish to update, then press the return key.
B. Screen will ask; " Is This Correct (Y/N) ".
C. Enter the points scored for visiting team displayed, then
press return key.
D. Enter the points scored for the home team displayed, then
press the return key.
E. The program will ask; " Is This Correct (Y/N) Y "
The default to the question is Yes. If correct, press return
if not correct, enter the letter N and press return.
F. Continue entering points scored for each team, for that week.
G. After all team points are entered the program will display
the games and the score and ask;
"Do You Want To Make Any Changes (Y/N) ?"
When N is pressed the program will return to the Update Menu.
When Y is pressed the program instructs you to enter the game
number needing changes, Then press return key, enter the correct
scores and press return key.
Select { 4 } Check Weekly Scores
A. Enter the week number you wish to display, then press Return.
B. Screen will ask; " Is This Correct (Y/N) ".
C. When Y is answered the screen will display the scores for that week
and ask;
"(H)ardcopy Do You Want To Make Any Changes (Y/N) ?".
If H is pressed the program will copy the scores to your printer.
If N is pressed the program will only save the scores if you have
made any changes. If no changes are made the program will return to
the Update Menu.
If Y is pressed the program instructs you to enter the game
number needing changes. Then press return key, enter the correct
scores and press return key.

Select { 5 } Print Score Sheet
A. Enter the week number you wish to print, then press Return.
B. Screen will ask; " Is This Correct (Y/N) ".
C. When Y is answered the screen will display ;
" Select <Return> To Print Score Sheet Or Select (M) For Menu "
If <Return> is pressed the program will copy a score sheet to your printer.
When M is pressed the program will return to the Update Menu.
Select { 6 } Check Or Change Home Field
Check or change the home field advantage. The program comes set to 2,
but you can change it to what ever you think it should be. If you
think the NY Giants should have a home field advantage of 7, then you
can change it. Remember, what ever you have entered will be used by
the PDB PROGRAM. ( Min = -3 Max = 8 )
Select { 7 } Add Or Delete A Game
Teams may change a game and if they do this option will allow you to
make the changes. Remember to always Delete the old game first before
adding the new game to the schedule.
Select { 1 } Delete A Game From Schedule
Select { 2 } Add A Game To Schedule
Select { M } Return To Update Menu
Select { 1 } Delete A Game From Schedule
A. Enter the week number for the game you want to delete.
B. Using the Arrow Keys, select the Visiting team and press return.
C. Using the Arrow Keys, select the Home team and press return.
D. The program will display the game and ask; " Is This Correct (Y/N) ".
If answer Y then the program will delete the game from schedule.
If answer N then the program will return to the Update Menu.
Select { 2 } Add A Game To Schedule
*** NOTE Use this Menu option to enter the play off games
A. Enter the week number for the game you want to add.
B. Using the Arrow Keys, select the Visiting team and press return.
C. Using the Arrow Keys, select the Home team and press return.

D. The program will display the game and ask; " Is This Correct (Y/N) ".
If answer Y then the program will add the game to the schedule.
If answer N then the program will return to the Update Menu.
E. Continue entering teams until all games are entered.
F. The program automatically saves your update to disk.
* To enter spreads go to Selection { 1 } Enter Spreads.
Select { 1 } Predict Winning Teams
*** Note remember the program uses the home field advantage you have
entered into the program. Also the winners are picked versus the
spread you have entered into the program. You don't have to enter
any spreads. The program will then pick the winners even up.
A. Enter the week of the season you wish to Pick Winners, then press
the return key.
B. Screen will display; " Is This Correct (Y/N) ".
If answer Y the program will display the following;
The program sorts out the games and display them with a win %, based on
the fact if the games were played 100 times, thats the number the team
would win at that line.
C. Screen will display " Select <Return> For Print Out Or (M)enu "
* Selecting <Return> will print the information to your printer.
* Selecting the letter M will return you to the pick winners menu.
* Teams Displayed in lower case letters are visitors.
* Teams Displayed in upper case letters are the home teams.
Remember My Slogan " Make Sure The Conditions Are Right "
Select { 3 } Check Team Stats
A. Using the up and down arrow keys will display the teams. Select
the <Return> key when the team you wish to check is displayed.
B. The teams stats will appear on the screen and the program will ask;
" (C)heck Another Team (M)enu "
Select the { C } key to check another team. Repeat step 1.
Select the { M } key to return to the Main Menu.

Select { 4 } Check Team Power
A diminishing return principle is built in the power formula to
prevent teams from building up power by running up the score
against weak teams. Remember the power is built from scratch each
time you enter or change the score of the games, so there is no
power for teams until they play a game. The program will display
the teams power and ask;
" Hard Copy (Y/N) ? "
Select Y and the program will copy the power to your printer.
Select N and you will return to the main menu.
Select { 5 } Check Teams Standings
This will display the teams standings and average points scored and
allowed along with the teams record versus the dreaded spread.
Select { 6 } Audit Data Base
This will look at the schedule of all teams, the score and spreads
of all games, and print out any errors so you can correct them using
the MAIN PFB PROGRAM.

This option will let you check any teams stats the last 5 years.
Using the <Arrow Keys> select the team you want to check out and
press the <Return Key> the rest is History. When the program
displays " Select Any-Key-To-Continue " pressing the letter M
will return you to the main menu...........
Select { 2 } Check Team vs Team
This option will let you check any team vs team match up over the
the last 5 years. Using the <Arrow Keys> select the Visiting team
and press the <Return Key> then using the <Arrow Keys> select the
Home Team and press the <Return Key> the rest is history.......

Select { 3 } Check Team vs Certain Line
This option will let you check any team vs the dreaded spread the
last 5 years. Using the <Arrow Keys> select the team you want to
check out and press the <Return Key>. Then type in the line you
wish to look at Examples; Lets say you selected Chicago and you
want to see how Chicago did when they were -7 or more then enter
<-7 and press the <Return Key>. The program will ask for the
number of years you would like to use in your calculation 1 to 5
Just press the number for the number of past years you want to
use then press the <Return Key> and the rest is history.
=7 would show you all games where Chicago was + 7
=-7 would show you all games where Chicago was - 7
>7 would show you all games where Chicago was plus 7 or more
<7 would show you all games where Chicago was plus 7 or less
>-7 would show you all games where Chicago was minus 7 or less
<-7 would show you all games where Chicago was minus 7 or more
Select { 4 } Check Team vs Own Division
This option will let you check any team vs their Own Division.
Using the <Arrow Keys> select the team you want to check out and
press the <Return Key>. Now press the number of past years to use
then press the <Return Key> and the rest is History.
Select { 5 } Check Team vs Own Conference
This option will let you check any team vs their Own Conference.
Using the <Arrow Keys> select the team you want to check out and
press the <Return Key>. Now press the number of past years to use
then press the <Return Key> and the rest is History.
Select { 6 } Check Team vs Other Conference
This option will let you check any team vs the Other Conference.
Using the <Arrow Keys> select the team you want to check out and
press the <Return Key>. Now press the number of past years to use
then press the <Return Key> and the rest is History.
Select { 7 } Check Team The Week After
This option will let you check out how a team plays the week after
playing a certain opponett. Using the <Arrow Keys> select the
opponett of the team you wish to check and press the <Return Key>.
Now using the <Arrow Keys> select the team you wish to check and
press the <Return Key> the rest is History.
Select { 8 } Check Team The Week Before
This option will let you check out how a team plays the week before
playing a certain opponett. Using the <Arrow Keys> select the
opponett of the team you wish to check and press the <Return Key>.
Now using the <Arrow Keys> select the team you wish to check and
press the <Return Key> the rest is History.

Select { 9 } Check Team vs Week Number
This option will let you check out how a team plays on a certain
week number. Using the <Arrow Keys> select the the team you wish
to check and press the <Return Key>. Now enter the week number
you wish to check and press the <Return Key> the rest is History.
Select { R } Check Regular Season Standings
This option will let you check the Regular Season Standing's of
any year 1988 thru 1991. Just select the year and press the
<Return Key> and the rest is history..........
Select { T } Load PFB Program
This will load the PFB Handicapper back into memory.

PS: Don't ask for ideas on how to use the Past-Match-Ups Program as there is
over 100 different trends you can use this program to look for and I would
have to write a 900 page manual. Some people don't use trends and some
do. Some use 1 or 2 trends and some use 10 or more. This program will let
you look for just about any trend you want to look for. Forward and ideas
on history to your books number 1 enemy Rotten Robbie Robinson.
Select { Q } Quit Program
Returns you to DOS.............
PBBHB = Pro Basket Ball Hypothetical Bets
Put this program in the same directory as your PBB program as this program
reads the Scores and Schedule from the PBB.DAT file.
This Program Was Written For The Sole Purpose Of Recording You And Your
Friends Hypothetical Bets Not For The Purpose Of Illegal Sports Betting
Select { 1 } Enter Or Check Names
This option is where you enter the file names for you and your friends.
You can also Delete a file name.
You can also change the juice for a file name.
Each file name holds the bets for only that person.
You can enter upto 10 different names.
Select { 2 } Enter Bets
Just enter the # of the player that you want to make bets for.
Then enter the date the games will be played.
You can also check and change the bets here.
Just follow the instructions on the screen.
F is for a FLAT BET , O is for a OVER BET , U is for a UNDER BET
V is for the Away Team , H is for the Home Team
Enter the line for the team you want to bet on.
If the line is +7 just enter 7 if the line is -7 then enter -7
If the O/U line is 42.5 then enter 42.5
If the line is just 210 then enter 210
When you enter the amount bet don't enter the .00
Example of a $25.00 bet just enter 25

If you make a mistake you can delete the mistake by doing the following
When the program asks you to select the ( F O U ) type of bet press the
letter D. This will delete just the bets for that game. Or when the program
asks you to select the ( V H ) team press the letter D.
Select { 3 } Check Bets (1-Week)
Just enter the week # the games where played example 7.
The DEMO file name has some example bets for week 7 remember that the
teams haven't played yet so no scores have been enter intp the program.
Select { 4 } Check Bets (Y.T.D.)
This option will check your bets YTD
Select { 5 } Load PBB Program
Loads the PBB.EXE Program
Select { 6 } Load PBBMU Program
Loads the PBBMU Program
Select { Q } Quit
Returns you to DOS.
Select { 8 } Write Scores To A File (from Main Menu)
Type in the week # you want to write the scores and lines to a file for
Example week 1 would write a file to you disk named NFL-01.TXT
The reason we do this as someone may want to write the scores and lines
to a file so that they can read them into a Dbase file or some other
other file system.
